Shaving Hints & Tips 1. Choose the best quality shaver such as the VelvetShave Intimate Area Shaver. Avoid a cheap one that is more likely to cause, nicks, soreness and razor burns in this sensitive area. There are a lot of poorer quality Chinese made shavers on the market that, in our opinion, you should definitely avoid and purchase a quality shaver. 2. It is vital to trim the pubic hair to a stubble first, especially if it is thick and long. It is essential to use a good quality trimmer first. This is the single most common reason for getting poor results from an intimate area shaver! We recommend one of the Shavy Femini trimmers, see our product range for full details. 3. After trimming your intimate area hair to stubble length, take a bath or shower and dry your intimate area thoroughly. The warm water will have softened the hair making it easier to shave. 4. Once your intimate area is thoroughly dry apply talcum powder to keep area moisture free. Women should avoid getting the talc inside the sensitive areas of the vagina as it can cause irritation. 5. Pull the skin taut with your free hand and then shave without applying pressure. 6. Shave upwards against the direction of the hair growth, holding the razor at about a 45 degree angle. 7. If the shaver becomes clogged with hair just remove the head by unscrewing it and clean the head and blades with a small brush (supplied with the shaver). 8. Rinse off the pubic area and look for any remaining patches of hair. If necessary, repeat steps 4 through 7 described above until you get the velvet smooth finish you are looking for.
