The blades do not seem to cut well any more.

The common cause of reduced performance of your shaver is that the blades have worn down with use. The blades of the VelvetShave are adjustable. Simply remove the battery, unscrew the foil, then locate the small screw located between the blades and turn the screw a half twist in a clockwise direction. This raises the blade platform to ensure the shaver cuts like new. Raising the blades too high will make them catch the screen and cease to spin. Turning the screw anti clockwise will solve this.
